Take 5 with our Head of Menu, Amy D 🫶
Behind the development of our Wickedly Good and Oscar Piastri 81 burgers, Amy took 5 with our team to share her journey with Grill’d, which started when we first opened our doors over 21 years ago.
“My journey started in restaurant alongside Simon (Crowe), and then it evolved as we needed a Support Office. I’ve been across practically every department, including Operations, Marketing and Supply. Back in the beginning, we had to do it all. Now I get to develop and evolve our products, while staying true to what we’re all about – all taste, no regrets.
When it comes to career highlights, Amy says she has hundreds of memorable moments. From opening the second Grill’d restaurant to working on our epic campaign partnerships, and opening Grill’d Bali, our first international restaurant. If she had to choose, there is one memory that’s closest to her heart.
“The one that’s really huge in my life is our Local Matters Reward Trips, where we took our restaurant Local Matters Legends to Cambodia to volunteer. It’s something I’ve continued to do on a personal level, regularly spending time there supporting a number of not-for-profits.
To feel good in the moment and beyond, Amy’s Grill’d go-to is a Bacon and Cheese on Panini, swapping in aged cheddar. As for her favourite collaboration, that’s not so easy.
“Well, you’re not meant to have favourite kids…. but it’s the Wickedly Good burger.”
At Grill’d, we’re all about endless opportunity. We encourage our team to choose their own career path, and we’re here to make it happen 👉 https://careers.grilld.com.au/

We’re in the business of good burgers. Sounds simple, right? But it takes a lot of good people to get the job done.
