    Meet Hollie, Restaurant Manager at Grill’d Surfers Paradise

    Hollie is the Restaurant manager on the Gold Coast glitter strip, Surfer Paradise. It’s arguably one of the most sought-after places to work, with the beach less than 50 metres from the restaurant. Hollie has been with Grill’d for 4 years, working at a number of different locations across the Gold Coast. Although being a Restaurant Manager takes up a lot of Hollie’s time, that’s not all she does. She is also a sister, an aunt and an incredible dog mum to the cutest little 4-year-old french bulldog!

    What do you do as a Restaurant Manager?

    I make sure that the restaurant runs smoothly day-to-day. I coach and train my team and make sure that all our customers have a great experience. It’s a full-on job. Because the restaurant is running all the time, I need to make sure that everything is running smoothly. But I also have my Assistant Restaurant Managers who always have my back.

    What has been your Grill’d career journey?

    Before Grill’d I was a Restaurant Manager at another restaurant (not Grill’d) for 2 years. It was a great starting point. It was very structured,whereas at Grill’d you get a lot more flexibility, ánd I can develop teams better and spend more time on customer service.

    When I started at Grill’d I was hired as an ARM at Pacific Fair and then moved to Surfer’s Paradise where I became Restaurant Manager.

    What has been a memorable experience at work?

    I’ve made a lot of friends at Grill’d. I wouldn’t say that there is one specific experience but I love that Grill’d have taken me on this journey. I’ve personally developed through it into the person I am today.

    What would you say to someone thinking of working at Grill’d?

    Choose Grill’d if you want a job that’s more than just a ‘job’. Obviously, you’re going to make great friends. But if you want something that’s going to give you a little bit more, then Grill’d is the choice for you. More responsibility, more flexibility, more choices, pick your own path and passion. There are definitely a lot of different avenues you can go down.
