Teaming up with our mates at Vinnies and the Salvos, this week we hosted our April City Support dinners to serve those doing it tough in our big cities.

For our Operations Insight Manager, Prem, our City Support dinners are all about empathy, community, and love.

“My favourite part of volunteering at City Support is engaging with our guests. A lot of our guests don’t feel seen, so when they come into our restaurants and we greet them by name and hand them their burger at their table, you see the smile on their faces. That’s the most rewarding part for me.

Since joining Grill’d 1 year ago, Prem has made City Support a monthly ritual. His most memorable moment comes back to the first family he served.

“I can vividly remember it, it was a parent and three kids, and the parent was so overwhelmed and didn’t know what to do. We helped them, the kids sat down, and we gave the kids colouring-in books. What I took away from it was how excited the kids were. They were out for dinner and having fun, and it’s moments like these that I really enjoy about City Support”.
